While the Grand Pavois La Rochelle 2023 confirmed its status as a business show, a novelty show and a meeting place for tomorrow’s boating trends, the area devoted to Gliding and Light Sailing will benefit from a real evolution-revolution in 2024, in order to highlight the incredible opportunity of having direct access to the sea with your feet in the sand. The Grand Pavois La Rochelle is one of the only boat shows in the world to have such direct access to the sea, and it wants its 80,000 visitors expected in 2024 to benefit from it.

A new name, the Grand Pavois Beach.

It’s a new name that celebrates the new concept put in place by the Grand Pavois Organisation for 2024 with the Grand Pavois Beach. The beach at Les Minimes will become the Grand Pavois Beach from 2024, with the aim of celebrating board sports such as funboarding, kiteboarding, light sailing and rowing activities such as canoeing, kayaking and paddling. But the idea and the desire is also to open up to new sports such as skateboarding, BMX, mountain biking, etc. Five areas will be on offer at the Grand Pavois Beach: The Spot, the tent for events (conferences, screenings, meetings, book signings, etc.); The swimming pool for introductory courses and water games; The floor for events and demonstrations of BMX and skateboarding; The sand for introductory courses at sea and events on the beach; The Beach Bar for refreshments with a view of the sea.

The priority: to open up to as many people as possible, and especially to brands, to promote the practice and promotion of all these activities that bring in new users and create new passions, all in a spirit of fun and sharing.

A new format with four days of dates!

In order to respond to the wishes of brands and professionals, the format of the dates is evolving. It’s a real evolution-revolution for the Grand Pavois La Rochelle, as the Grand Pavois Beach will be open from Thursday to Sunday, for a total of four days.

Opening on Thursday October 3 at 10.00am, the Grand Pavois Beach will be open on the Plage des Minimes until Sunday evening at 6.00pm. 4 days of equipment exhibitions, new products, trials, sea or pool baptisms and demonstrations for all, punctuated by conferences, meetings and DJ Sets in the beach bar specially designed for the occasion.

New activities

While the DNA of this space is and will remain trials and baptisms open to all, these will be strengthened and made more powerful, while guaranteeing their safety and supervision. Facilitating access to sailing and to the sea remains one of the leitmotifs of the Grand Pavois Organisation, and the association also wishes to develop relations with exhibiting brands and clubs in order to promote their activities and offers. A specific partnership has been developed with the Comité Départemental de Voile de Charente-Maritime and its clubs to provide equipment and instructors for introductory sailing sessions. There will also be a Pocket Surf so that everyone can learn to surf in complete safety!

A host of other activities will also be on offer, including BMX and skateboarding demonstrations and initiations on a floor, not forgetting a Big Air specially set up for the event. There will also be a meeting area, called Le Spot, where exhibiting brands will be presenting their latest equipment and products, as well as showing promotional board sports and adventure films, and organising meetings, round-table discussions and conferences on a variety of themes open to all, not forgetting eco-responsibility and the preservation of the oceans, which remains one of the priorities of this area.

Practice for all, the very foundation of the Grand Pavois Organisation, will also be promoted by the presence of the Handi Cap’Access area, supported by the Charente-Maritime department. Once again present on the Minimes beach, this area promotes access to sailing for the disabled, with the support of the two departmental federations, Handisport and Sport Adapté. Every year, 500 people discover and take part in water sports activities here. It’s an area that’s become a must!

Finally, at the end of each day, DJ Sets concerts will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5.00 p.m. to make the most of the Grand Pavois Beach and this exceptional location, with your feet in the sand, on the Minimes beach.
