Introduced to the show in 2018, this year, the autumn National Windfoil will bring together 150 participants from all over France. No doubt the very best in this sport will be present in La Rochelle for the event and a very high-level competition, with about forty world champions, will be on the water to battle for the title. The very best in France in foil will be present at La Plage to celebrate a return to competition after a rather difficult year for such events!

This competition is organised with the Cercle Nautique d’Angoulins and the Grand Pavois La Rochelle and is open to FFVoile Windfoil licence holders.

A combination of kite surf, surf and windsurf, all with a foil, is creating quite a buzz and offers plenty to delight all board sport enthusiasts! Wingsurf, or a sail that you hold with your arms outstretched and a board on your feet, appeared for the first time in 2015 with Tony Logosz. It took several years before this sport was seen at kitesurf and windsurf spots and, no doubt, it was when Robby Naish started to use it and develop the technique that Wingfoil really took off. Later, with the progress made on foils, Wingfoil continued to develop its fan base and, today, there is no doubt that Wingfoil has really taken off!

Therefore, the Grand Pavois La Rochelle, with its La Plage space, is delighted to be able to welcome about fifty competitors for this first autumn National in La Rochelle. The cream of this new sport will be among the many fans attending the weekend of the show to discover the equipment on display, chat with brands and competitors, and test and discover this new activity.

This competition is also organised with the Cercle Nautique d’Angoulins and the Grand Pavois La Rochelle.

The National ETF on Friday 1, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October.

Inspired by the multihulls of the America’s Cup, in 2016, Jean-Pierre Dick (four-time winner of the Transat Jacques Vabre) and the architect Guillaume Verdier created the ETF 26 (Easy  to Fly). This 26-foot catamaran (8.10 metres long and 4.30 metres wide) is easy to sail by all and offers the chance to achieve the excellence of flight aboard boats equipped with foils. Built and assembled in France, this sports boat is designed to fly when it reaches speeds over 8 knots and, today, brings together crews with experienced skippers such as Billy Besson, Jean-Pierre Dick, Yvan Bourgnon and Jean-Christophe Mourniac.

The National ETF 26 will be held exceptionally in La Rochelle in 2021 and more specifically during the Grand Pavois La Rochelle. A unique opportunity to present and promote this circuit that offers the chance to get up close to these astonishing « machines » that fly over the water and compete neck and neck at (very) high speeds!

Board Sport and Foil exhibitors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Grand Pavois La Rochelle

On the occasion of its four Board Sport and Foil events, exhibitors will come together at La Plage on the last three days of the Atlantic show to answer questions from enthusiasts and rookies relating to the equipment available (windfoil, paddle, wingfoil, light sailing, etc.), training courses and practices. A specific event bringing together the leading brands that will take advantage of these four events and the presence of the leading French athletes in these disciplines. A must!
