Learn to Sail with Les Glénans
Have you never sailed before? Now’s your chance to give it a try.
The Glénans School offers a 2.5-hour outing aboard a Dufour 360 monohull, accompanied by sailing professionals. An accessible introduction to learn basic maneuvers, understand how a sailboat works, and, above all, experience the thrill of sailing.
Les Glénans, Europe’s leading sailing school, has been sharing its expertise and passion for sailing for nearly 80 years.
Departures at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Sail like a Viking aboard a drakkar
For an extraordinary experience, climb aboard the Bátar Fyr, a modern replica of a Viking drakkar.
Built of wood by the French association Bátar, this approximately 12-meter-long boat lets you rediscover the sensations and certain sailing techniques of ancient Nordic vessels.
A unique outing to discover maritime heritage and share a different kind of experience on the water.
Departures at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m.
Duration: 1 hour.

Experience a rescue mission with the SNSM
How about stepping into the shoes of a sea rescuer for the duration of a trip?
Aboard the SNS 741 “Marie-Anne”, a rapid-response RIB based in La Rochelle, you’ll learn what it’s like to be part of a sea rescue mission. Survival suit, helmet, and boarding: an exceptional immersion into the daily lives of SNSM volunteers.
Departures at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

Minimum height: 1.30 m.
Free. Donations to support the SNSM are welcome.
Trips are subject to the station’s operational requirements and may be canceled in the event of an emergency response.
Discover the Pertuis of La Rochelle aboard the Columbus
Come aboard the Columbus, a former 60-foot racing sailboat launched in La Rochelle in 1986.
A former competitor in the BOC Challenge and the first Vendée Globe, this iconic boat is now dedicated to covering races, nautical events, and promoting maritime heritage.
Two types of cruises are offered during the Grand Pavois.
Discovery Cruise
Two 1.5-hour trips to explore the Pertuis Rochelais from the sea.

Sunset Aperitif
A special experience to enjoy the end of the day on the water. Departure from the Grand Pavois at 5:45 PM, sailing at sunset, and return to the Médiathèque pier in downtown La Rochelle at 9:00 PM.

Step into the world of a Class40
Wondering what life is like for skippers during an Atlantic crossing?
The Class40 FPFP-TP No. 185, skippered by Matéo Le Calvic and Pierre Boulbin, opens its doors to you at the Grand Pavois.
No sea outing for this boat, but a true immersion in the world of offshore racing. The skippers will share their daily life on board: sleep, meals, organizing life on board, and preparing for an Atlantic crossing.
A boat to discover before its next big challenge: the Atlantic crossing as part of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe.
Onshore visit only.
Access is by rotation in small groups; registration is required at the “Boat trip experience” Welcome Tent.
Discover competitive sailing aboard a J80
With La Rochelle Nautique, experience the thrills of competitive sailing aboard a J80.
This 8-meter one-design boat is prized for its maneuverability, performance, and ease of handling. It’s the perfect way to experience sailing from a more athletic perspective while still being accessible to everyone.
Departures at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Duration: 1 hour.
Ages 12 and up.
4 spots per outing.

Get your fill of thrills aboard a RIB
For those seeking even more excitement, head out to sea aboard a Narwhal RIB equipped with jockey seats.
A dynamic sailing experience that lets you feel the boat’s movements and fully enjoy the sea. Depending on sailing conditions, trips may take you from the Bout du Monde Lighthouse all the way to Île de Ré.
Departures at 12 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m.
Duration: 1 hour.
16 people per trip.

How do I book a boat trip?
To participate in the experiences offered in the “Boat trip experience” area, go directly to the dedicated Welcome Tent, located at the Grand Pavois.
There you can find information on the various excursions offered, their schedules, and eligibility requirements, and sign up based on availability.
Some experiences are free, while others are offered at an affordable rate. Since capacity varies by boat, registration is subject to availability.
Be sure to arrive well in advance and strictly adhere to the boarding time indicated when you register.
